How do I connect to Wi-Fi on the train?

PLEASE NOTE THAT SMART DOES NOT CURRENTLY OFFER WI-FI ON BOARD TRAINS. WI-FI IS STILL AVAILABLE ON PLATFORMS.

  • Go to your settings, and connect to the “SMART-WiFi” public network.
  • Open a web browser and enter SMARTWiFi.com in the address bar.
  • Review and accept the terms and conditions to connect to the internet.

 

What kind of internet speed can I expect?

Clipper Basics

SMART uses Clipper®, the Bay Area’s all-in-one transit card, for payment and does not accept cash fare. You can use the following types of value on Clipper to ride SMART:

Eco Pass Program Discontinued

SMART’s Eco Pass Program has been discontinued and replaced with the SMART 31-Day Pass. For more information, please see the Fare Fact Sheet.

Clipper FAQs

Can I add value to my Clipper® card at the SMART station?

  • Yes, you can add cash value and 31-day passes to adult, Youth, Senior and RTC Clipper cards at SMART fare machines, located on each station platform. SMART fare machines accept cash and credit/debit cards.
