Service Advisory: All Trains Canceled for Monday, October 28

When power is turned back on, local jurisdictions have to reactivate all traffic control systems and synchronize them with SMART railroad crossing warning devices. To protect the public safety, provide time for local jurisdictions to reactivate traffic control systems, and to clear downed trees from tracks due to continuing high winds, train service will be canceled on Monday, October 28.

Service Advisory

These are the last south and northbound trains of the day. Please make your travel plans accordingly.

Limited pre-revenue operations in San Rafael are scheduled for this coming Saturday, October 19, 2019, from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Operations will occur between the Larkspur station and Myrtle Avenue (near the south portal of the Puerto Suello Tunnel), including the 4th Street, 5th Avenue, and Mission Avenue railroad crossings.

Public Safety Power Shutoff Should Not Affect SMART

The PG&E power shut off, as planned, should not affect SMART operations. SMART will operate the normal train schedule, serving all stations.

Suicide Prevention is a Community Effort

Some individuals in extreme emotional pain may exhibit warning signs and some may not. Addressing this public health issue requires a comprehensive community response, including sensitive, non-sensational reporting when people die by suicide. Mental health professionals have issued media best practices guidelines for responsible reporting when a suicide occurs. Media can play a role in promoting messages of hope by specifically publishing the warning signs of suicide and steps each of us can make in suicide prevention.
