  • VETERANS DAY - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2026

​​SMART trains and shuttles will operate on a regular weekday schedule Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

Other transit agencies operate on their own schedules and may have modified or reduced service on holidays. Please visit their websites to confirm your connections.   • SAIL AND RAIL PILOT PROGRAM ENDING NOVEMBER 30, 2026

The Sail and Rail fare product was established as a pilot program to allow SMART and Golden Gate Transportation to evaluate the service before determining whether it should become a permanent offering. The $10 ticket, available exclusively through the SMART e-Tickets app, combines a one-way trip on the SMART train with a one-way trip on the ferry.

Following the pilot period, the Sail and Rail program will conclude effective November 30, 2026.


The final date to purchase passes was October 31, 2026. November 30, 2026, will be the final day customers may use Sail and Rail tickets. 


Customers who currently have Sail and Rail tickets in their mobile ticket wallet, sold under “Train + Ferry” in the SMART app, are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and use any remaining tickets on or before the November 30 end date.

 

For future trips, we encourage you to consider using Clipper, which provides a $2.85 transfer discount on all inter- and intra-agency transfers.  You can learn more about the transfer discount at clippercard.com/smart, and our staff are happy to assist with any questions you may have.

RIDER NOTIFICATIONS

Effective June 1, 2026, SMART rider alerts will be delivered through the Transit app. Nixle notifications will no longer be used, so be sure to download the Transit app and turn on notifications to stay informed.
