There’s no better way to get to your favorite community events than with SMART. Skip the traffic, enjoy the scenic ride, and arrive just steps away from the action. Check out these upcoming events - all easily accessible by SMART!

We’ve rounded up local, family-friendly events that are a reasonable walk from our stations during regular service hours. We recommend giving the walking distance and train schedule a quick look to make sure everything feels comfortable and that you can get to the fun—and back home—right on time.

March

  • Daily: Get your practice on the ice or enjoy an easy skate with friends at Public Skate at Snoopy’s Home Ice.

 

  • Mondays: Enjoy a morning skate & coffee at Snoopy’s Home Ice Coffee Club
  • Tuesdays: Taco 'bout a good time at the Santa Rosa Taco Tuesday Bike Ride, an 8-mile, family-friendly community cruise every Tuesday evening
  • Tuesdays: Cheers to Tuesdays! Enjoy $2 off all draft pints after 5pm until closing on Tuesdays at Finnegan's Marin.

  • Tuesdays: Every Tuesday, kids eat free at World Famous Hot Boys in Novato from 4pm-closing time with the purchase of an adult meal!

  • Thursdays: Raise the steaks at the Chef’s Market—where Marin’s tastiest talents come to shop

  • Wednesdays: Test your knowledge and enjoy craft beer at HenHouse Brewing Company's weekly Trivia Night in Novato! Every Wednesday from 6-8pm.

  • Wednesdays: Put your knowledge to the test at Trivia Night every Wednesday at The Keg Stand Brewing in Novato! 

  • Wednesdays: Meet us outside Poppy Store every Wednesday for Mart Littles music with Mr. Christopher! Free to attend. No need to RSVP. In the event of rain, this event will move to the Big Tent!

  • Thursdays: Every Thursday, storytime for kids will be held outside (weather permitting) at the big log in front of Copperfield’s Books.

  • Fridays: Enjoy a morning skate & coffee at Snoopy’s Home Ice. Coffee Club is a fun and supportive, twice-weekly two hour session for adults, ages 18 and over.

  • Saturdays: Rain or shine, it’s market time! Head to the Marin Country Mart Farmers' Market every Saturday for a bounty of fresh, local goodness, music, and crafts
  • Fridays: Join us at Hotel E – Enology Wine Lounge for Music Bingo!

  • Saturdays:The Floathouse Petaluma invites you to free, beginner-friendly rowing lessons on the calm waters of the Petaluma River.

  • Sundays: Kids eat free at Finnegan's Marin when accompanied with a dining adult!

  • Sundays: Every Sunday, come join us for a fun filled day of Mahjong games under the Big Tent at the Mart. 

  • Sundays: Giddy up! Every Sunday through year’s end, swing by the Mart for pony rides for the kids.

  • Sundays: Turnip the flavor at the Marin Farmers Market, the third-largest weekly market in California

 

  • March 12: Sign up now for Sip & Paint at Tasting Notes! Create a personalized portrait of your beloved pet—no artistic experience required. Before the event, our featured artist will hand‑sketch your pet’s face onto your canvas, giving you the perfect starting point.
  • March 12-27: WAR! — What About the Kids? An exhibition of over 40 original artworks by the children of Ukraine at The Community Media Center of Marin
  • March 13: Olympic Champion Gabriella Papadakis leads Ice Dance International’s new tour, THE SEASONS—a celebration of artistry, athleticism, and speed that turns the rink into a living stage at Snoopy’s Home Ice.
  • March 14: Spring is Here! Join us at the Museum of Sonoma County for a free, drop-in celebration — make a cyanotype print, decorate a garden pot, and learn how gardening can help slow climate change with Master Gardners of Sonoma County.
  • March 14: Join us at Courthouse Square for the St. Patrick’s Day 5K — a fun run for all ages and abilities! Every finisher earns a medal + mug, then stick around for the post-race party with beer or root beer, a costume contest, music, and more!
  • March 14: See Jeremy Gorman live at Adobe Road Winery. With a deep knowledge of music theory, along with a vast range of musical tastes, Jeremy creates story-driven songs that capture ideas of hope and gratitude, and of his own personal life’s journey.
  • March 14: Stop in for a local favorite! The AJ’s are back with their easy-listening acoustic rock trio. Enjoy a glass of wine while they play rock, pop and country from the 70s to the present.
  • March 14-April 24: Get ready to experience clay in a whole new light! A dazzling new exhibition, “Illuminations: How the Light Gets In,” opens the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael. 
  • March 16: Calling all wine industry professionals and downtown Petaluma businesses - join us at Montagne Russe for an Industry Open House! If you haven't seen our new tasting room yet, or haven't seen us in a while, please come through for an evening of wine, music, and networking!
  • March 19: Our Open Mic Night is a welcoming, low‑pressure space for musicians, poets, and comedians to showcase their talents, try out new material, or simply enjoy performing for a supportive crowd. 
  • March 21-22: Performing Arts Academy of Marin is delighted to present the beloved musical Annie! With the book and score by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin, this Tony Award winning show brings friendship, adventure, and family to the stage.
  • March 21: Tasting Notes presents Callie Watts & Kris Dilbeck! Don’t miss this Northern California-based pop singer/songwriter duo whose music radiates timeless warmth and melodic sophistication.
  • March 21: Anthony Presti’s style encompasses folk nuances mixed with the inspirations of his rock upbringing. Catch him live at Adobe Red Winery!
  • March 22: Ready to feel confident on a paddleboard? Our Learn to SUP class is a welcoming, two-hour introduction designed to help you paddle smarter — not harder — so you can truly enjoy your time on the water.
  • March 26: Join us in Montagne Russe Winery & Vinyl Lounge’s tasting room, settle in with your team over some wine, trivia starts promptly at 5:30pm.
  • March 27: Get ready to laugh until your wine spills—Comedy Night is back at Tasting Notes, and this month’s lineup is stacked with hilariously sharp talent from across California.
  • March 28: Well-known local musicians Peter Filice & Bob McBain are coming to Tasting Notes. Sit back and enjoy the acoustic guitar & keyboard duo as they play classic rock, modern music, pop, country, blues, R&B and folk. 
  • March 28: Join the crew from The Floathouse for a one-way, two-hour glide downriver in Hobie pedal kayaks—powered by your legs and the outgoing tide. This slow-lane journey follows the Petaluma River south of town, slipping quietly through hidden wetlands and tidal habitat that most people never see, and that can’t be accessed any other way.
  • March 28: Join us for a special Saturday acoustic live music set at Adobe Road Winery in downtown Petaluma with Timothy O’Neil. Sip on award-winning wines while enjoying talented local musicians in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • March 29: Heartland rock with grit and soul, Mark McLay & The Dustdevils deliver songs that hit home. Don’t miss them at the California Theatre.
  • March 29: The Great River Town Egg Hunt turns Petaluma’s Turning Basin into a floating scavenger hunt, where paddlers of all ages can search for hidden eggs (and maybe even a golden one). All proceeds benefit River Town Racers, Petaluma’s own all-ages sprint kayak team!
  • March 30: Explore the Museum’s newest exhibition, Snoopy’s Family, bead, create, and dance at the Charles M. Schulz Museum's Museum Mondays
