SMART Will Run Free Limited Service Wednesday, October 30 Through Wednesday, November 6

Tuesday, October 29, 2019 - 3:50pm
Update: SMART has resumed the full service schedule. Service will continue to be free through Wednesday, November 6. For details, visit http://SonomaMarinTrain.org/node/337. Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) will operate on a limited schedule beginning Wednesday, October 30, as a result of extreme fire conditions in Sonoma and Marin counties.

SMART service will be free of charge to assist those in the area who need transportation options during this period, from October 30 to November 6.

Service will operate from the Santa Rosa Downtown station to downtown San Rafael, serving all stations in between. Southbound service begins at 4:31 a.m. out of the Santa Rosa Downtown station, and northbound service begins 5:59 a.m. out of San Rafael. SMART will run 34 train trips each day.

Due to power outages and closed railroad crossings in the northern portion of Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County Airport and Santa Rosa North stations will be closed until further notice.

Please be aware that fire conditions can change at any time. Please check SMART’s website: www.SonomaMarinTrain.org before starting your trip to ensure there are no schedule changes.

Safety is SMART’s top priority, and we will continue to monitor fire conditions and will use all necessary safety precautions.
