ADA and Section 504

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 (42 USC §§ 12101 et seq.) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended (Sec. 504) (29 USC §794) and implementing regulations, Sonoma~Marin Area Rail Transit District (“SMART”) will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its policies or in the administration of, admission or access to, treatment of or employment in, its programs, services, or activities. Accessibility on SMART Stations and Trains

SMART provides rail transit service that is accessible to passengers with disabilities. SMART’s platforms and trains are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Clipper Card vending machines on SMART platforms are also ADA compliant. SMART trains have ADA accessible restrooms and seating. Onboard SMART personnel are available to assist those with disabilities in boarding and exiting the train, and with any other needs that may arise.

The Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) District strives to make all its products and services, including this web database application, accessible to all users. Compliance with access standards is tested using the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE) powered by the WebAIM organization at the Center for Persons with Disabilities, Utah State University. Additionally, our pages have been tested using large font settings on common web browsers and with Freedom Scientific's JAWSR Screen Reader to ensure that the content is accessible with these assistive technologies.
